NORTH SALT LAKE -- Developments are back and this community is seeing a new spurt of growth, Ken Leetham, director of community and economic development, said.
Leetham said the city issued 811 permits for residential dwelling units in 2012, which when fully occupied will add almost 2,500 people to the population of the city. He projected even more growth in the immediate future.
He released a 10-year look at development numbers for members of the city council at a recent meeting. Those numbers show a significant slowing of growth in 2010 and 2011 with an uptick in 2012 and even bigger growth thus far this year.
"We think we have 800 single-family units yet to be built in North Salt Lake," Leetham projected.
Leetham projected a build out of approximately 22,000 residents for the south Davis County community when everything settles.
