As I write this letter, machinery roars and the stench of hot asphalt fill the air. The road is being resurfaced in front of my house; a common occurrence.
In this instance the road was fine, no pot holes, no cracks, no bumps, a good, usable road.
I don't know who exactly makes the decisions to needlessly pave perfectly good roads. I do wish they could take the trouble to get out of their comfortable chair and have a quick look before taking action.
It is really hard to feel good about paying taxes when one sees the money foolishly squandered.
Every agency of government claims it needs more money to do its job. I for one feel that is outrageous hogwash. Wake up, bureaucrats, and look at what you are doing.
