SALT LAKE CITY -- Scott Cousins' sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth gave the Salt Lake Bees a 5-4 win over the Las Vegas 51s on Thursday in the PCL playoffs at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
Andy Marte led off the ninth with a single to left and advanced to second on a passed ball. Efren Navarro was intentionally walked and both runners moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Drew Heid. After Roberto Lopez was intentionally walked to load the bases, Cousins lofted a fly ball to left center. After the catch, Marte scored with a head first slide.
Salt Lake took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth on a one-out RBI single by Tommy Field, but Las Vegas tied it up in the top of the ninth. Daniel Stange (2-0) picked up his second win of the series.
Marte led the Bees with four hits, including a game-tying home run in the fifth inning. Salt Lake now has a 2-0 lead in the best of five Pacific Conference championship series.
