SALT LAKE CITY -- Former Utah governor and presidential candidate Jon Huntsman has raised $100,000 through his new political action committee, fundraising reports show.
Huntsman's Utah-based Red Rock PAC has spent half of that money for start-up costs such as building a website and legal fees.
State fundraising records show the PAC received three large checks from donors in Washington, D.C., New York and Park City from June through August.
Huntsman spokesman Joe Kildea told The Salt lake Tribune that the group hasn't focused on fundraising much because Huntsman was in Asia for the summer.
The PAC isn't eligible to contribute to federal candidates but it can support those running in local races.
