Florence Elizabeth Wohlfarth Wolfard passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013, at the age of 83 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She had lived in Ogden since 1950. Born on March 26, 1930, in Los Angeles, CA, to Edla and Roy Wohlfarth, she met her husband Deo in Hollywood. They celebrated 58 years together until his death in 2008. Florence was a dedicated wife and mother, creator of several beautiful homes here and in San Diego, CA, a gracious hostess welcoming friends, family as well as her grandchildren's wedding parties. With Deo they motor homed around the country enjoying motorcycling, snowmobiling, and golfing at every opportunity. She enjoyed years of travel visiting Australia, Europe, Central and South America, Hawaii and Alaska, plus an adventurous passage with her sister Caroline to Antarctica! An active community volunteer, Florence served with the UT Girl Scout Council, as YWCA Board President, the Republican Election Committee, Planned Parenthood, Ben Lomond and Ogden Golf and Country Club Associations. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Florence is survived by her sister, Caroline Hobson, Happy Valley, OR; three daughters, Victoria (Jonathan) Williams, Boulder, CO; Wendi Wolfard (Max Holbrook) and Sally (Stephen) Tasker, Ogden; four grandchildren, John (Kristy) Glasmann, Escondido, CA; Bridgett Tasker (Devin Attebery), Colette (Wade) Layton, and Yvette (Bill) Davis, Ogden; great-grandchildren, Kaylie Hanney, Haley Glasmann, Brooklyn and Tyler Deo Davis. Much loved additional family members include step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was affectionately known as "Crackers" by the younger generations.
