NickelWesley and Betty Nickel ofClearfield will celebrate their60th wedding anniversary.Friends and family may attendan open house in their honorfrom 1 to 3 p.m. on Sept. 14at the Clearfield CommunityCenter, 55 S. State St., Clearfield.
He was born in Page, Neb.,to Plen and Eva Nickel. Shewas born in Caldwell, Idaho, toCharles and Edith Breshears.The couple met througha friend at a roller skatingrink in Nampa, Idaho, in 1952.They married Sept. 27, 1953, inLovelock, Nev.
He worked for the UnionPacific Railroad throughoutIdaho.
She spent her first few yearsof marriage working at homeraising their family, and laterworked for Crookham SeedCo. and Hehr InternationalManufacturing in Idaho.
In May 1974, he wasrelocated to Utah, where hecontinued working for theUnion Pacific Railroad inClearfield, Ogden and Salt LakeCity until his retirement after44 years.
She worked for MurdockMachine and Engineering, MaxFactor and Wal-Mart Stores Inc.until her retirement.After their retirements,they worked for Anaheim AutoAuction. Both retired after 10years of service.
Their four children andspouses are Sherrie andMonty Spaulding, Deanna andDarrell Dandoy, Calvin Nickel(deceased), and Kimberly andSteve Peacock.They have 17 grandchildren,26 great-grandchildren and twogreat-great-grandchildren.
They enjoy spending time attheir property in Idaho and timewith family and friends.
