Sep 10 2013 - 9:15pm

EDEN -- Weber State University alumni members of Sigma Delta Pi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternities are sponsoring a charity golf tournament Friday to raise scholarship money for families of fallen and wounded soldiers.

The four-man scramble tournament starts at 10 a.m. at Wolf Creek Golf Course, 3900 Wolf Creek Drive, Eden.

The event costs $110 per player or $390 per team.

Registration includes breakfast, green fees, golf cart rental, prizes and dinner at 4:30 p.m.

Additional dinner guests are $25 each.

Event planners also are seeking hole-sponsorship donations of $200.

In 2012, the alumni fraternity brothers created a nonprofit organization and set up a fund at WSU through its Veterans Affairs office.

The fund provides $5,000 in scholarships for two spouses and a grandson of Purple Heart recipients.

The goal for 2013 is to raise $10,000 in scholarships.
