On September 7, 2013, Patricia (Pat) Anne Affleck Scoville peacefully left this life to be reunited with her husband, Gil. Pat's vivacious laugh and beautiful smile will be sorely missed by those she leaves behind.
Pat was born in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of Theodore and Dorothy Affleck. The family moved to Oakland California and then to North Hollywood where she spent most of her childhood. It was there she met Gil, and the two became inseparable at the age of sixteen, later marrying in 1949. They welcomed three children into their home: Mark (Linda), Brett (Keri), and Cindy (Kent) Carter.
Pat was always the life of the party, naturally drawing a crowd with her infectious personality. She loved the beach and often took her young family to play in the waves. This love of water eventually led the family to adopt boating, a hobby they shared with many close friends.
In her youth, Pat worked as a fashion model for a modeling agency that contracted to JC Penney's, where she appeared in the company's well-known catalogue many times. She was poised and beautiful--internally and externally.
Pat had a competitive, fun-loving spirit. She was an avid bowler, known to easily whip out strikes in league play. She loved a good card game, camping, gardening, and crafting. She had a firm, steady hand that expertly painted the ceramic figures and wind chimes she made in her kiln, which then turned into "Pat's-Ding-a-Lings" the craft business she created and so loved.
In 2002, Pat was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Though the disease eventually claimed much of her mind, it never stifled her spirit. Pat's family wishes to thank all those who participated in her care, particularly the Family Tree in Morgan, Utah.
A funeral will be held in Pat's honor on Saturday, September 14th at 1 p.m. at the South Morgan Cemetery. Following the services, Pat's family wishes to invite family and friends to a reception celebrating her life at the Carter residence, 810 Hardscrabble Road, Morgan. www.broomheadfuneralhome.com
