I have lived in the city of Washington Terrace for 35 years and this is the first time I've ever written a letter praising the mayor.
I live on a busy street with a speed limit of 30 mph. Some drivers were using the street as a race track, exceeding 70 mph. As I have grandchildren playing next to the street, I became very concerned and contacted Mayor Mark Allen. He directed a team of officials from Washington Terrace, Weber County Sheriffs Dept. and Weber County Highway Dept. to address the speeding problem. Within two weeks, the speeding problem had diminished to the posted limit.
At the time of my initial complaint, Mayor Allen came by my home to obtain additional information about the problem. He also followed-up several times after his work day, to determine if his action taken had any positive effect. He also made a follow-up visit 30 to 40 days after the initial complaint asking if he needed to do more.
Mayor Allen is a great asset to the city of Washington Terrace and with election time coming up, he has my vote.
If Washington Terrace residents need a reason to vote for him for mayor, give me a call; I'm in the book.
