PCL: Bees snag much-needed ‘W’

SALT LAKE CITY -- Jarrett Grube tossed a complete game two-hit shutout to lead the Salt Lake Bees to a 9-0 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers on Friday night in Game 3 of the Pacific Coast League Championship Series.

With the win, the Bees trail Omaha 2-1 in the best-of-five series. Game 4 will be played at 6:35 p.m. today at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

Grube gave up a two-out double to Brian Fletcher in the second inning and a leadoff single by Christian Colon in the first complete game shutout in Salt Lake franchise history. Grube also equaled a franchise postseason record with 11 strikeouts while walking just one.

Roberto Lopez belted a two-run homer for the Bees.
