A surprise90th birthdaycelebrationwas held Saturday,Sept.14, for ClareNaegle at theDavis ConferenceCenter inLayton.
He wasborn on Sept.17, 1923, in Toquervilleto Raymond and MildredPace Naegle. He receivedhis early education in Toquervilleand later in Hurricane,graduating from HurricaneHigh School in 1941.
During World War II, heserved in the U.S. Army AirCorps. Later he worked at HillAir Force Base, where he retiredin 1979.
He married Nina Stacy, andthey had three children. Theirchildren and spouses are Michaeland Terry Naegle ofOgden; Brad and Karon Naegleof Salinas, Calif.; and Lorri andDoug Aldridge of Woods Cross.They were later divorced.
In 1986, he married ElainePilgrim, and they currently residein Clearfield.
He spends his time golfing,reading, riding his bicycle andvolunteering at the Hill AirForce Museum. He still enjoystraveling.
He has two sisters: PhylissPurdy (deceased) and Pat Scaliseof Ogden. He also has fourgrandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren,three stepchildrenand several step-grandchildren.
