Philip Carl Randolph, 65, of Plain City, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 surrounded by loved ones, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born on February 20, 1948 in Ogden, Utah to Ruth H. Young and George C. Randolph. He attended Ogden City schools, then at the age of 17 joined the U.S. Navy serving active and reserve duty, later retiring from the Utah Army National Guard with 23 years of combined service.
In 1994, Phil married Carla K. Jensen and they later moved to Plain City, Utah, where they met many wonderful neighbors and friends. He was a member of the LDS Church. He retired from HAFB after 27 years, also serving with the Riverdale fire department as a volunteer firefighter. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1481, where he enjoyed service on the Honor Guard. Grandpa Phil fiercely loved his grandchildren as they visited, went camp-ing and enjoyed his teasing in the swimming pool.
Phil is survived by his wife, Carla, and his children, Philip Troy, Joshua (Jacki) and Kimberly Randolph; step-sons Matthew, Tyler (Cindy) and Carson (Siena) Webb, his sister Georganne (Bob) Lemberes; and ten wonderful grandchildren, Gideon and Clementyne Randolph, Hayley, Alexander, Timothy, Hunter, Brayden, Corryn, Kazeyah and Javin Webb. Also survived by one Aunt and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carrie; and nephew, Dave.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Farr West 3rd Ward Building, 1745 N 2300 W, Farr West, Utah. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Church, and from 10 to 10:45 am prior to the service. He selflessly chose to donate his body to the University of Utah School of Medicine.
