I was pleased to read the article about the volunteers who continue to work hard for those who cannot help themselves (Sept. 16, "Volunteers keep Seager Clinic running"). The Seager Clinic is an amazing contribution to our community here in Ogden. The workers put in countless hours to improve the lives of those in poverty, receiving nothing in return. This article should be a wake up call to our community. Most of us would visit the doctor with minor conditions such as the common cold, yet these under- privileged poor and homeless people go weeks, months, even years with conditions such as carpal tunnel, heart failure, tuberculosis, and much more without ever getting treated.
We the community should join together and help out the Seager Clinic so that these individuals who are dying may be nursed back to health and potentially get back into the work force. One day they may turn around and help out those who helped them.
