Elaine King (Hardman) Ferrin, 88, died on Monday, Sept. 16 in Rexburg, Idaho. She was born May 2, 1925 in Logan, Utah, the daughter of John Jacob King and Ruby Evangeline Nelson King.
She grew up in the Logan, Utah, Preston, Idaho and Afton Wyoming areas until she graduated from Afton high school in 1943. She married Melvin (Mick) Hardman on December 20, 1947. They lived in Logan, Utah and farmed in Arbon Valley, Idaho until 1957 when they moved to the Rupert, Idaho area to homestead a farm. She raised her four children in Idaho. Mick died in August, 1973. In January 6, 1979, she married Horace Eldon Ferrin and they resided in Ogden, Utah until his death in July, 2001. She then moved to Pahrump, Nevada and lived near her daughter Bonnie Blincoe until 2012 when she moved to the Homestead in Rexburg, Idaho. She was blessed in her life by good husbands, family and friends. She dearly loved and enjoyed her wonderful family times with her siblings and their families: Andrew King, Violet King Nuhn, Jack King, Maurine King Neilsen, and Devola King Hayes. Her siblings preceded her in death. Elaine loved singing, beautiful music, flowers, fishing, bowling, serving others, vacation trips with her son Scott, and Bingo. She had a tender and caring heart for others and she was a ray of sunshine, love and laughter for her family and friends. She was very proud of her children. She will be remembered with deep love and gratitude. She was an active and endowed member of the LDS church. Surviving are her four children: Bonnie Blincoe (Dean) of Pahrump, Nevada; Steve Hardman (Jodi) of Hagerman, Idaho; Randy Hardman (Aline) of Menan, Idaho and Scott Hardman of Henderson, Nevada.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21 in the Nelson Funeral Home in Logan, Utah at 162 East and 400 North. A Viewing will be from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. for family and friends.
Burial will be in the Logan Cemetery.
