Lightning strikes were responsible for about 500 residences without power in the Top of Utah today.

Rocky Mountain Power spokesperson Margaret Oler said about 233 customers in Ogden were in the dark due to a power pole that was substantially damaged near 848 7th St. Power for that area was restored by 10:45 a.m.

About 93 customers in the Eden/Huntsvile are also without power, also due to lightning strikes. And in Clearfield, 261 residences are out. Oler expects theses areas to see power restored by noon.
