Top of Utah running fans are being treated to another sweet cross country season.
The Davis High girls won the prestigious Bob Firman Invitational on Saturday in Boise, Idaho, as Utah teams swept the top 10.
Lucy Biles Herriman outdueled Ogden’s Sarah Feeny for the medalist honors. Davis’ Taylor Cox was fourth, with teammates Aubrey Argyle fifth and Hannah Albrechtsen 10th. Kenzie Weir (16th) and Ashley Tyndall (20th) completed the scoring.
Ogden was fourth and Davis sixth in the boys chase, right behind Bingham, which finished third. Sky View’s Conner Mantz ran fifth, with Davis’ Skylar Williams 15th.
The Tigers were led by Mike Buckley, who ran 27th overall.
At Friday’s Royal Run XC Challenge, Weber won the boys team title, followed by Box Elder, Clearfield and Syracuse. The Bees’ Tanner Blaylock and Hunter Meredith ran 1-2, with Jacob Malone seventh. The Warriors were led by Will Palmer (third), Devon Jennings (fourth) and Stetson Hohman (sixth).
Clearfield’s Kendall Thompson was fifth, with teammate Mathew Garcia 10th, just behind Syracuse’s Ryan Andreason.
In the girls race, Box Elder’s Hannah Malone won the medalist honors, with Jordan winning the team title ahead of Syracuse. Weber was fourth, with Clearfield fifth.
Bountiful’s Megan Spehar ran fourth, with Syracuse’s Isabella Williams and Sharlie Dimick fifth and sixth, respectively. Weber’s Sam Heaton ran ninth overall.
The City-County Invitational, for Ogden City and Weber County schools, is set for Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Weber County Fairgrounds.
