Layton Fire Department plans open house Oct. 2

LAYTON -- The Layton Fire Department will hold the Kendall O. Bryant Fire Prevention Awareness Day Open House from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 2 at Fire Station No. 51, at 530 North and 2200 West.

The open house will have activities for the family. There will be free rides on one of the fire engines. Participants are urged to bring canned food items for the food bank.

The event is named after firefighter Kendall O. Bryant, who died in the line of duty while searching for victims in a house fire March 31, 2000.
