I-15 travel in Layton to be restricted Oct.4-7

Sep 29 2013 - 11:19pm

LAYTON -- Interstate 15 in Layton will be restricted to two lanes in each direction this weekend, as crews repair the road decks of the Hill Field Road interchange.

Friday through Oct. 7, crews will restrict I-15 at Hill Field Road as they rehabilitate the deck of the bridges at the interchange there.

Crews will work through the weekend, beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, and will finish their work by 6 a.m. Oct. 7.

During the project, heavy traffic congestion is expected, and motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes. Interstate through-traffic should consider using a north-south combination of U.S. 89 and Interstate 84 in Davis and Weber counties.

Wasatch Front motorists traveling to the Utah State University-Brigham Young University football matchup in Logan on Friday are strongly advised to consider using eastbound I-84 in Riverdale to southbound U.S. 89 in Uintah as a part of their return travel following the game.
