How is it that while many agencies for the needy, like Head Start and Planned Parenthood get their funds cut, while 15 members of Congress or their spouses receive thousands of taxpayers funds in farm subsides. According to a report by the Environmental Working Group, the 2013 update of its farm subsidy data base shows that they benefited from a total of $237,921 dollars in taxpayer-funded farm subsides payments of last year. Thirteen of the fifteen are Republicans with two are Democrats.
Our own Orrin hatch and his wife have received a total of $49,722 from 1995 to 2012. My question is this, how can this be, when those members of Congress don't really need these monies in comparison to those agencies that help many who aren't as blessed or as well compensated as them?
Now they are trying to take away the Affordable Health Care Act, which will provide people with the opportunity to have health care, which they didn't have before.
As for those in Congress, guess who pays for their health care, well as that of their family members? You got it, those same needy people who need a hand up.
Please contact your congressional representatives, and ask them why this is being done to them, while those not in need, are being given tax monies that could be put to better use.
