My husband just took his truck in to be looked at because it was acting up. The ethanol that the government requires to be added in the gasoline is deteriorating the valves and engines on vehicles. Repairs to the valves or a new engine may cost between $2,000 and $6,000. Is there any gasoline can be purchased that does not contain the ethanol? As far as I know, the ethanol causes damage by burning hotter than what the engines can tolerate, especially vehicles before 1998.
