OGDEN -- Sophomore forward Mackenzie Harrison has been named as the Big Sky Conference's offensive player of the week after helping lead the Weber State women's soccer team to a 2-0-0 record to open Big Sky play last week.
Harrison scored two goals on five shots as the Wildcats defeated Montana and Eastern Washington to kick off Big Sky action.
Harrison scored the match-winner in Weber State's 2-0 victory over the Grizzlies on Thursday, recording three shots in 86 minutes of work.
On the goal, Harrison took an initial shot that hit the crossbar and then ended up back at her feet during a scramble in front of the goal, where the Kaysville native punched it in for the 41st-minute lead.
In the Wildcats' 3-0 victory over the Eagles on Saturday, Harrison recorded two shots in 82 minutes. Her 59th minute goal doubled Weber State's advantage and came after she broke through a pair of Eastern Washington defenders to launch a shot that struck the turf and skipped over a diving goalkeeper.
For the season overall, Harrison has five goals on 25 shots, including two match-winners.
Sacramento State goalkeeper Kimberly Mata and Portland State defender Torie Morris were named as the Big Sky's co-defensive players of the week.
