Titans, Lancers earn road wins

BOUNTIFUL -- Syracuse and Layton joined Northridge as road teams to post convincing Region 1 victories on Friday night. The Titans showed off their offensive arsenal in their 34-0 victory over the Viewmont Vikings.

Kole Tracy completed 14-for-20 with 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Syracuse. Daunte Atkinson caught five passes for 56 yards, while Trevor Olsen hauled in four catches for 77 yards and a TD. Kavika Fonua led the Titans rushing attack with 57 yards and two scores on 10 carries.

* LAYTON 26, WEBER 13: At Pleasant View, the Lancers started the game on fire, building a 20-point lead before trading scores with the Warriors on the way to the road win.

* WOODS CROSS 41, HIGHLAND 21: At Salt Lake City, the Wildcats rolled out to a 35-0 halftime edge and coasted to victory.

Clay Kidman finished the night 10 of 18 passing with 178 yards and two touchdowns to lead Woods Cross, despite throwing two interceptionst.

Luke Jowers ran in a pair of TDs, and Gunther Braxton added another rushing score to help the Wildcats past Highland.

* BOUNTIFUL 35, KEARNS 18: At Bountiful, the Braces built a 28-0 lead by halftime then played keepaway with the Cougars for the win.

Kaden Larsen caught two TD passes from Trevor Lloyd to power the home team in the win. Amone Finau scored all three of Kearns' TDs in the loss.

* SOUTH SUMMIT 27, LAYTON CHRISTIAN 3: At Kamas, the Eagles held up for a half against the deep Wilcats roster. Bailey Kenter gave a 19-yard field goal to give LCA the early lead.

Colby Averett led the Wildcats with 190 yards, 10 carries, and two touchdowns in the victory.
