OGDEN -- A man on a skateboard was able to walk away from an auto-pedestrian accident with only minor injuries, but police are still concerned over the lack of drivers who yield to pedestrians.
At about 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, a man was crossing Washington Boulevard at the 28th Street crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle that did not stop, Ogden Lt. Tim Scott said.
The man was treated on the scene for minor injuries and the driver was cited for failing to yield.
Scott said there has been a recent rise in auto-pedistrian accidents on Washington Boulevard and Wall Avenue, mostly as a result of drivers who do not slow down when a pedestrian is at a crosswalk.
Ogden police will be enforcing the crosswalk law by pulling over any driver who does not yield to an officer crossing the street. Police will be monitoring drivers on Friday, Scott said.
