SALT LAKE CITY -- The special counsel assisting a state House investigation of Utah Attorney General John Swallow says 60 witnesses have been interviewed so far.
Attorney Steven Reich of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld gave lawmakers on the House investigative committee a brief update on the probe Tuesday.
Following the update in a public meeting, the committee of lawmakers went into a closed session to receive legal advice and discuss an individual whose name was not disclosed.
Swallow has been dogged by allegations of misconduct since shortly after assuming office in January.
The Utah House formed the fact-finding committee in July to look into the allegations.
Swallow, a Republican, is also the subject of state and local investigations.
He has denied any wrongdoing and says the ongoing investigations will clear his name.STORY:201310080039Swallow investigators: 60 interviewed so far/frontpage/2013/10/08/Swallow-investigators-60-interviewed-so-far.html-1
