MORGAN -- The Morgan Trojans won in straight sets Thursday, but the Union Cougars were scrappy and made Morgan High earn the sweep.
Morgan defeated Union 25-14, 29-27, 25-21 on its homecourt to remain perfect in Region 10.
After a relatively easy set 1 win, the Trojans had to fight in the second set. Down 23-21, Morgan clawed back to knot the score at 23-all. The Trojans then overcame two Union game points and finally pulled out a 29-27 win.
Senior McKenzie Schenk led the way for Morgan (13-3 overall, 6-0 league) with 10 kills and three solo blocks.
Jaiden Farr, Kristi Rhead and Aubrey Saunders each had seven kills. Kennedy Wortman and Jessica Carter had six and five kills, respectively.
Setter Jorry Randall had 22 assists and seven digs, while Rhead had 18 assists and five digs.
One key to Morgan's win was its excellent blocking. Saunders added two solo blocks, while Carter and Wortman each had a solo block.

Bear River 23-25, 17-25, 25-12, 25-20, 16-14: At Garland, the Bears' Alyssa Park had 15 kills, three solo blocks and six digs; Fallon Peterson had four kills; Rachel Litchford had four kills; Justyn Rose had four kills, one solo block, six digs, one ace and five service points; Taylie Bee had one solo block; setter Jenny Bitner had 31 assists and 11 service points; libero Michelle Davis had 28 digs and five service points; and freshman Jessica Rose had eight digs, two aces and 17 service points for Bear River (4-11-2, 2-4), which became the first team to take the undefeated Buffaloes (12-0, 6-0) to five sets in league play this year.
* St. Joseph def. Dugway 25-10, 25-7, 25-7: At Dugway, the state 1-A runner-up Jayhawks, who have not dropped a set this season, remained undefeated at 18-0, 7-0.
