Agetha Butterfield King of Ogden will celebrate her 90th birthday.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1923, in Sacramento, Calif., to Raymond O. and Ellen Morley Butterfield. She was raised and attended schools in Ogden and Oregon. She wed Lloyd King on June 26, 1948. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
She worked for the telephone company before her marriage and later at J.C. Penney Co. for seven years. She says that her main focus in life has been raising her four children in a loving home; and that she and her husband have found joy in having their grandchildren spend time with them throughout the years.
Her married life has been spent as a member of the Orchard Park (old 9th) Ward, where she has served in many capacities in ward and stake callings. She and her husband served in the Africa Zimbabwe LDS Mission from February 1985 to February 1986.
Her children and their spouses are Colleen and Mike Telford (both deceased); Gale and Earl Livingston, Ogden; Corey and Cindy King, Centerville; and Tracy and Jean King, Ogden.
She also has 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
