OGDEN -- A man is dead after being involved in an auto accident Thursday.
The accident happened around 5:41 p.m. at the intersection of 31st Street and Wall Avenue.
The 54-year-old driver of a compact car was traveling eastbound on 31st Street and was reportedly swerving between vehicles stopped at a red light, Ogden Lt. Tim Scott said.
The driver continued on through the red light and was struck by a southbound pickup truck.
The driver of the compact car had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, Scott said.
He was declared dead at the hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the compact car was at fault for running the red light, Scott said. It is unknown if DUI was a factor.
The name of the victim was not released Thursday night, pending notification of family members.
