Police ID suspect in Ogden stabbing

OGDEN -- Police have released the name of the 18-year-old man suspected of stabbing another man Saturday night behind the Summit Hotel.

Ogden Police Lt. Scott Conley said the suspect is Rocci Angelo Martinez, who police picked up shortly after the incident. Martinez was booked into Weber County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault. 

Police were called to the hotel, at 247 24th Street, just before 9 p.m. The victim, a 43-year-old man, whose name police have not released, was found with a stab wound to the torso. 

The man was taken to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden. Conley said the man's most recent reported condition was serious but stable.

As of Monday morning, formal charges had not been filed against Martinez, who according to court records had no prior criminal charges as an adult.
