ROY -- Tyler Skidmore completed 9-of-12 pass attempts for 256 yards and four touchdowns, two to Cody Hobbs and Skylar Hoover each, as Roy punished Bonneville 55-22 Wednesday night in Region 5 football action between the two Weber County rivals.
Hobbs also added an interception, along with Jaden Brown who had two picks -- one returned for a touchdown.
Roy wasted little time getting on the board with Skidmore hitting a wide open Hoover for a 66-yard touchdown pass on the second play of the game.
Those types of long touchdown passes have become commonplace for Skidmore, who is averaging over 10 yards per pass attempt this season, as well as his coach Fred Fernandes.
"I said a long time ago he's the best I've ever coached," Fernandes said.
After back-to-back interceptions followed by a Bonneville punt, Roy marched 87 yards on six plays with Baby Tee Eteuati carrying it in from a yard out. Roy then used a trick play to convert a two-point conversion and a 15-0 lead.
Bonneville used its own trick play on the ensuing kickoff with Bryan Burns lateraling the ball to Sealun Erskine for a 48-yard return to the Roy 34.
Bonneville took advantage of the field position with a 26-yard touchdown pass from Kysen Hall to Erskine three plays later, although the point-after attempt was missed.
Undeterred, the Roy offense went right back down the field for another six-play touchdown drive, this time covering 75 yards with Eteuati picking up his second touchdown of the game from 22 yards out.
The Royals moved the score to 28-6 in the second quarter thanks to Brown returning his second interception of the game 30 yards for a touchdown.
Bonneville benefited from an Eteuati fumble inside the Roy 10 midway through the second quarter to pull within two touchdowns. Erskine -- who replaced Hall on the previous drive when Hall aggravated a hip flexor injury -- connected with Bryson Von Colln for a 7-yard touchdown pass and then ran in the two-point attempt himself, cutting Roy's lead to 28-14.
Roy made sure that was as close as Bonneville would get though with Skidmore tossing two touchdowns to Hobbs of 61 and 21 yards, respectively, to give Roy a 42-14 halftime lead.
A pair of turnovers led to another pair of touchdowns in the third quarter with Skidmore finding Hoover for a 23-yard strike and Alex Cabrera running one in from seven yards out to put Roy up 55-14.
Bonneville tallied a purely cosmetic touchdown late in the fourth quarter and added a two-point conversion for the final points of the game.
* SKY VIEW 52, OGDEN 0: At Ogden, the Tigers' first run through the Region gridiron campaign continued with little success.
Braxton Godderidge and Logan Miller hooked up on three scoring passes as Sky View built a 45-0 lead at halftime before calling off the dogs.
Miller, Max Christensen and Stockton Boman also added scoring TDs, while Ian Clark drilled a 29-yard field goal for the Bobcats.
