Gary Glen and Gwen Stewart Farr of Taylor celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. A dinner party and stay at the Salt Lake City Grand America Hotel were hosted by their children.
They were married Oct. 18, 1963, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
Born in Ogden to Glen and Inez C. Farr, he graduated from Weber High School in 1960 and attended Weber College. He worked for Thiokol, Hill Air Force Base and as an NC machinist and foreman at Williams International, retiring after 14 years. He later became an owner-operator semi-driver. He received several safety awards for having no accidents or cargo claims in his 18 years of driving in 47 states. He enjoys watching sports, gardening and travel.
She was born to Duncan and Thelma P. Stewart. She attended Ogden city schools and graduated from Weber High School in 1961. She also attended Weber College. She was employed at Zales Jewelers, The Bon Marche, Layton Farm Supply and the Internal Revenue Service, retiring after 10 years. She enjoys home decorating, craft making, reading, writing family histories, antiques, gardening and family gatherings.
Both are members of the LDS Church, having served in many capacities.
Their children and spouses are Jeffrey G. and Teresa W. Farr, Mantua; Becki and Eric Mascarenas, Coos Bay, Ore.; Jason G. Farr and Bonnie Farr, both of Taylor. They have 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
