Woman killed in one-car accident near Ogden airport

OGDEN -- A 20-year-old woman was killed Friday night when the car in which she was a passenger went off the roadway and struck a parked trailer along Airport Road, police said.

The black Mazda was northbound about 11:20 p.m. when the driver lost control on a curve and went off the road and hit the trailer, Ogden police said. The vehicle sustained heavy damage in the one-vehicle accident at 3463 Airport Road. 

According to an Ogden Police Department press release, officers attempted resuscitation efforts, but the woman died at the scene. 

The 24-year-old male driver was transported to McKay-Dee Hospital with a possible broken leg.

Speed and alcohol may have been a factor, Lt. Tim Scott told the Standard-Examiner at the scene.

The identities of the victim and the driver were not made public, pending notification of family members.

Police asaid they are continuing to investigate the accident.
