Mr. Bigler will not get my vote as the next mayor for North Ogden City! My direct observations, encounters and exchanges with Wade Bigler, in his role as a city council member, a public figure, cause me grave concern regarding Mr. Bigler's fitness to serve North Ogden residents as their next mayor. Why has wade bigler not earned my vote this year?
I have both witnessed and been the target of Wade Bigler's public bullying, and his deceitful and possibly unlawful tactics leading up to and during City Council meetings and Appeal Hearings.
During the Appeal Hearing portion of the June 11, 2013 City Council Meeting, Wade Bigler, as an Appeal Hearing Judge, made a false accusation against me, one of the Appellants, of having made recommendations to the City Council, then acting as the Appeal Authority on an October 12, 2010 appeal. I immediately repudiated that false accusation and correct wade bigler that the recommendation came from Council Woman Harris. Mr. Bigler immediately "doubled down" on his false accusation by stating "the concern about the ventilation system came from Mr. Crippen." Mr. Bigler has knowledge of the facts, yet distorts them to his fit his false narrative.
During the Appeal Hearing of May 28, 2013, Wade Bigler stated: "He's never worked on my car; but, he has worked on some of yours. Uhm, that's why I went there, just so you know that, okay. He has worked on some of your cars, and your children's cars, and some of them even for free."). While Mr. Bigler was careful to not mention specific names in this accusation, it is very clear, given status of the 2010 opponents and the current Appellants, and the context of the conversation, the false statement was directed at me. Mr. Bigler has knowledge of the facts, yet distorts them to his fit his false narrative.
Over the last three years, I have witnessed Wade Bigler circumvent laws and proper and lawful procedures numerous times, which are documented and available in public record (see Standard-Examiner article http://www.standard.net/stories/2012/02/25/north-ogden-emails-violate-ut...). Mr. Bigler initiated an email exchange (Appeal Document Package Document #72) that violated Mr. Chandler's instruction (Appeal Document Package Document #16) and Utah State Code Title 52 - Chapter 04, and Title 10-1-201. Mr. Bigler attempted to build a majority consensus among certain Appeal Authority judges, circumvent City Code, 11-14 to block the Appellants' lawful right to a fair hearing; and, attempt to circumvent a City Code requirement, and block my future rights and protections contained in that City Code. Mr. Bigler understands his responsibility as an Appeal Hearing Judge, yet engaged in these illegal activities (a Class B misdemeanor per Title 52-4-305).
I have witnessed several times Wade Bigler use his most frequent explanation for his public, erroneous or contradictory statements: "I did not get that email message." I am considerably older than Wade Bigler; yet, I have mastered the email monster and gremlins. I am amazed and concerned at how often the city's email service discriminates and conspires against Wade Bigler by not delivering messages and attached documents to him, while delivering them to everyone else. It seems the email Gods have it out for Wade Bigler.
I cannot and will not vote for an individual who:
- publically disrespects and defames his position as a City Council Member, the Mayor, his Council peers, City employees, residents who volunteer and serve on various boards, and residents of this City who do not fall in line with his political agenda, backup his distortions, or sing praises of him.
- does not respect the City's laws, and the citizens' rights contained therein, that do not fit his political agenda and personal, private promises he has made.
- the email Gods constantly conspire to sabotage, embarrass, and trip him up at City Council meetings.
I strongly encourage residents of North Ogden to give serious consideration of entrusting Brent Taylor as your next mayor. Brent Taylor has the planning, organizational, and decision-making skills critical in the position of mayor. Brent is respectful, honest, and gives serious research and consideration to the issues before him. If you are tired of the biglering (distortions, disrespect, discord, and manufactured controversy) in the City's government these past four years; and, want to restore civility and integrity to our City government, please remove the source of bigerling and vote for Anybody for Mayor BUT Wade Bigler - vote for Brent Taylor!
