Who's to blame for the fiscal fiasco we experienced in our nation's capitol during the first two weeks of October? The news media would have us believe that it is the Congress that we should blame, and certainly they are not without fault. But where does the real blame lie? Who caused this impasse in Congress?
It was the people, the voters of our country who allowed this problem to occur. They could have prevented it. This problem has been going on for the past several years. Our Congress has not been working together----haven't you noticed? In the past, they worked together for many decades to resolve problem, but not any more. What has caused this problem to exist? The corrupt nature of our current political system and a man who controls it. His name is Grover Norquist. He controls the Republican Party and he does it with money.
The candidates running for office who spend the most money usually get elected. These candidates go to Grover to get their money. He gives it to them only if they sign a term of agreement. Basically, the agreement is that they will do as they're told by him. Well, most of them agreed to it. They got their money, they got elected and we have had an impasse in Congress ever since.
The citizens of this state and country allowed this problem to occur. They elected Republican crooks into office. It's their stupidness that is to blame for these problems. And it won't stop until we vote them out. This is not to say that Democrats are blameless. But we should support the lesser of the two evils until the situation is corrected and the politicians learn that they are there to represent the interests of all the people and not just the corporations who buy off our politicians.
