West Valley City homeowner knocks out one of three burlgars

WEST VALLEY CITY -- Police say one of three suspects in a West Valley City home invasion is in the hospital after the homeowner knocked the man unconscious.

West Valley City police say an assault and burglary was reported at the home near 7100 West and 3700 South around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports officers found one suspect lying unconscious near the front door and bleeding from the head.

Police have not released the identity of that man but say he was taken to a hospital.

Officers say two other suspects were fled the home and were still missing.

Several adults and five children were inside the home at the time.

The Deseret News reports a woman who lives in the home injured her ankle while trying to escape.
