Which Ogden Raptor do you remember most?
One of my favorites was Cristian Guerrero, now 33. He played outfield for the Raptors as an 18-year-old back in 1999 and 2000. After leaving the Brewers organization, the Dominican standout played in the Mariners, Angels, and Nationals minor league systems.
Now, after 15 seasons, it appears his pro career might be at an end. The Gary Southshore RailCats released Guerrero last week after five seasons with the team.
In his 15-year professional career, Guerrero has played in 1,300 games, amassed 1,341 hits and 171 home runs. He ended the 2013 season with a .269 career batting average and an impressive .435 slugging percentage.
He is the RailCats' all-time home run leader with 65 and several other categories. He also helped Gary Southshore win its independent league title in September.
In 2010, he enjoyed his greatest day -- June 9 at Road Ranger Stadium in Rockford, Ill. -- when Guerrero went on a power binge nearly unprecedented in over 100 years of pro baseball history.
The slugger went deep in his last two plate appearances of the first game of a doubleheader, then hit three home runs - on three consecutive pitches - in his first three trips during the nightcap.
