Thumbs up: To our active military personnel and all those who have served previously. As we remind our readers on this Veterans Day, they are the reason we live in a free nation.
Thumbs down: To the missing computer files from embattled Utah Attorney General John Swallow. It's just another outrage from an AG who would likely do Utahns a favor if he chose to resign.
Thumbs up: To all the candidates who cared enough about their communities to seek public office. They are integral to good government and our republic's ideal, and we thank them.
Thumbs down: To the use of fake guns. The fact is, we live in a society now where it is dangerous to play with toys that can appear to look like real weapons. Please parents, and others, use common sense on this issue.
Thumbs up: To Ogden's Oasis Community Garden. It's a haven for residents who wish to cultivate the valuable responsibility of using the land to grow food.
Thumbs down: To the loss of funds for a charitable group that assists in housing for the mentally ill. The Positive Action Assistance Group is struggling after going years without legislative assistance. It's time Legislature renewed its commitment to the organization.
