On the Friday before Veterans Day, I was watching the movie, "Taking Chance." It is the story of a Marine escort officer taking a fallen Marine's body back to his home for burial in Wyoming. Throughout the journey, we experience first-hand, people's difficulty but strong desire to express their personal thanks for the military service and personal sacrifice rendered by those who have severed in the military, especially those most recently in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Being a veteran of 25 years, may I suggest one way people in the health care profession could say, "Thank you for your service:" Please accept their TRICARE health insurance.
Yes, it is that simple. If you are a doctor, hospital, health care facility, or any other health care professional please accept and honor TRICARE, the military's health care insurance. Nothing is more disheartening than being refused medical care because your insurance payout rate is the lowest in the medical insurance industry. If you are a health care professional and truly appreciate military service then please accept TRICARE.
