I want to publicly congratulate my opponent, Beverley Macfarlane on her win for mayor of Sunset. I look forward to working with her and the rest of the newly elected city council members. Elections are hard work and grueling, but I do appreciate the opportunity to reach out to Sunset residents and hear their concerns and listen to the things that are important to each resident. I feel very confident that Sunset continues to be in good hands with our newly elected leaders.

I am excited to put our talents together and unitedly move Sunset forward. I am disappointed at voter participation levels in different cities along the Wasatch Front and I am proud of the voters of Sunset who consistently get out and vote and take their privilege and opportunity to vote serious. To all the voters I say, thank you for supporting your candidates. I am a firm believer that if you don’t feel the need to vote, then you probably shouldn’t complain about your leaders. It is not easy to put your name on the ballot and become a target of “pop shots” and rumors from whomever disagrees with you.

Finally, I want thank our outgoing mayor, Chad Bangerter, and council members, Ricky Carlson and Brent Andrews for their service to our city.
