Many thanks to Ogden for Veterans Day programs

Nov 13 2013 - 2:43pm

On Saturday, November 9, my wife, grandchildren and I had the high honor as Grand Marshal of the Ogden Veterans Day Parade to ride in a 1926 Lincoln courtesy of the Browning Kimball auto museum. Thanks go to my fellow veterans for this honor, especially in my hometown. Thanks go to the city of Ogden and Mayor Caldwell for their support of our veterans and this event. Thanks also, goes to VFW Post 1481 for spearheading this event to recognize our veterans. Thanks to so many business for offering discounts and free meals to our veterans.

For those who put on Veterans Day programs, may I suggest you invite Veterans as speakers. Many times over the years I have witnessed programs with active military or reservists as speakers in events honoring Veterans Day. Local American Legion, and VFW posts and DAV chapters all have folks who would be honored to speak. Armed Forces Day would be a great opportunity to have active duty and reservists come and speak and be recognized.

My Thanks to all who have served or who are serving today.
