Theo T. and Ruth Thornock Maisey of Ogden will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 25. They celebrated with most of their family, including children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at a luncheon held on Nov. 23 at the Maddox Ranch House in Perry.
They met at the Ogden 5th Ward. Their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple on Nov. 25, 1953.
He is known by family and friends for his dedication to his faith, his family and his work ethic. He has held several positions in the LDS Church and served as bishop of the Washington Terrace 1st Ward. He served in the Army and National Guard. He worked at Hill Air Force Base, Kennecott Copper, and later retired from the state of Utah, where he worked as a computer programmer.
She has held several jobs and enjoyed mostly the ones with the titles of mother, grandmother and friend, reaching out to those in need. She has also served in many LDS Church callings.
Their children say their parents have been a good example in many ways to them and others.
Their five children and spouses are Brent Maisey, Mike and Danette Fry, Karen Bunn, Lowell and Jill Whitley, and Daniel and Danette Maisey, all of Ogden. They have 18 grandchildren and 25 great- grandchildren.
