Syracuse honors four students

SYRACUSE — The city council has honored four students with the “Syracuse City & Wendy’s Award for Excellence.”

This monthly award recognizes the outstanding performance of students who excel in athletics, academics, arts and/or community service. It includes a certificate and gift card.

The latest honorees are: Krystal Wolfley, an outstanding student at West Point Junior High School; Adrian Porras, who speaks two languages and is another asset to West Point Junior High; Joana Avila, a perfect-attendance fifth-grader at Buffalo Point Elementary School; and Bridger Hamblin, a scholar and athlete who also attends Buffalo Point.
