EDEN — An adventure retail company is launching its signature line and on its website for female athletes of all ages.

SheShreds.co is an online store dedicated to female action sports enthusiasts. Female owned, the company celebrates and embraces the ladies of all ages “getting their shred on, loving life, being daring, pushing the guys out of the way, and breaking the gender divide in action sports,” said SheShreds.co founder Gina Duffy.

“You can look like a girl, ride like a dude, and still kill it,” she said.

The Eden-based company, founded this year, offers style-conscious apparel from hoodies, hats, sweaters and snowsuits, to built-for-females gear such as snowboards, helmets, skateboards, boots, bindings and sunglasses.

“We are more than a brand,” said Samantha Eaton, SheShreds.co web developer. “We are shaking up the sporting industry, opening lines of communication for the female athletes and empowering the emerging girl shredders while making it fun and fashionable.”

Duffy said after buying her first Vogue magazine at the age of 12, she was hooked on fashion.

“After riding my first kneeboard at 14, I was hooked on action sports. After stealing my brother’s skateboard when he was not home and his Skateboarder Magazines in the mid-’80s, I was hooked on the culture and the entire music, art and fashion scene it created,” she said. “You should always be expressing yourself and your personal style, especially when you are out there shredding.”

Duffy said adding to the company’s product line, recent partnerships with other action sports retailers and several female athlete celebrities has resulted in SheShreds.co becoming a brand with an empowering message to ignore society’s perception of a female’s role in sports.
