KAYSVILLE -- A three-car accident snarled noon-hour traffic near the intersection of Main Street and Crestwood Wednesday.
Kaysville resident Nate Dickson said he saw the incident unfold, and believes that one driver tried "to shoot the gap" to clear both lanes of Main Street traffic just north of the light near the Fresh Market grocery at 170 W. 200 North.
"We got dispatched at 12:37 p.m.," said Kaysville Police Lt. Kenton Pies. "One vehicle -- a Subaru Forester -- attempted to cross Main from Crestwood, failed to yield to a Saturn Ion on Main and got struck."
The impact caused the Forester to roll and collide into a third vehicle, Pies said.
The third car, a Plymouth Neon, was attempting to exit the Fresh Market parking lot at the time.
The crash did not result in any injuries, Pies said, but the Forester driver received a citation for failing to yield.
"All three vehicles were disabled and had to be towed," Pies said, urging drivers to "take a few extra seconds to make sure the road is clear."
