KANARRAVILLE -- An exchange of gunfire at a campground in Iron County has wounded a sheriff's deputy and a man.
Sheriff's Sgt. Charles Triplett says 41-year-old Grant Biedermann and Deputy Kellen Hudson were injured on Friday afternoon at the Red Lodge Campground in Kanarraville.
Biedermann is accused of opening fire after Hudson and two other deputies responded to the campground on a report of a suicidal man.
A bullet grazed Biedermann's head during the confrontation, and he was released after treatment at a hospital. He was booked Friday night into the county jail on two third-degree felony counts of aggravated assault.
Triplett says Biedermann developed bleeding on the brain on Saturday morning and was flown to an undisclosed hospital in northern Utah.
Hudson received a gunshot wound to the hip and was later treated and released. He will remain on routine leave pending the outcome of a task force review of the shootings.
