Postal worker displays true Christmas spirit

Dec 19 2013 - 6:12pm

I just had to write to let people know that the Christmas spirit is alive and well at the Mount Ogden Post Office. I arrived at the post office around 3 p.m. on Dec. 11. As you might imagine, it was a busy day for both the postal workers and the patrons. I was stressed to say the least, when the worker told me that the boxes I had so carefully wrapped were unacceptable because they had been used to carry oil. Without missing a step, the worker found some stickers that covered up the objectionable lettering for my smallest box and therefore made it ready for mailing.

The larger box was a bigger problem, but after some searching, he found another box just a little larger and placed my package in it to be mailed. He even wrote out the new labels for me!

I did not get his name because his name tag had flipped over, but he was more than helpful. We all need to follow this example and go the extra mile to help others, not only during the Christmas season, but all through the year.

This employee of the U.S. Postal Service truly made my day! Thank you!
