Herold Oliver and Ventura Gabaldon Sandoval of Layton and Sunset will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. A family party will be held in their honor at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, at Comfort Suites Ogden, 2250 S. 1200 West. Friends are welcome to drop by and visit the couple from 5 to 6 p.m. that evening.
The couple first met Dec. 31, 1945, at White City Bowling in Ogden. They were married on Dec. 22, 1948, in Albuquerque, N.M.
He served in the Army and Air Force. He retired from Hill Air Force Base and became a counselor for Davis County Mental Health. He enjoys golfing and bowling.
She retired from Defense Depot Ogden and raised six children. She enjoys trips to Wendover.
They are members of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Layton.
Their children and their spouses are Robert and Cris Sandoval, Mercedes and Andrew Ocana, Louisa and Floyd Trujillo, Luis and Karen Sandoval, Michael Sandoval, and Michelle and Korey Hathaway.
They have 22 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
