Phyllis L. Pinkston of Ogden turned 90 years old.
She was born in Garden Grove, Calif., on Dec. 19, 1923, the second of three daughters born to Benjamin and Roberta “Bobbi” Brooks Glanville.
She graduated from Compton High School and married Howard Gilbert the following year. They had a daughter, Roberta Gilbert Hudson, and were later divorced.
She then married Zeb Vance “Sunny” Murphy in 1947. He died in a car accident in June 1948, a month before she gave birth to their son Vance Murphy.
She later married Thomas Pinkston on Sept. 11, 1955. They had two daughters: Lorie Pinkston Bushnell and Darlene Pinkston. He died Jan. 1, 2002.
Her younger sister, DonnaLee McCracken, died several years ago at the age of 69. Her older sister, Lorranin Halgren, currently lives in Idaho.
She has five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
