OGDEN -- Saturday night at the Summit Hotel in Ogden, local mixed martial arts professionals Gabe Francis and Patrick Reeves squared off in a rematch of a bloody 2011 encounter which saw Francis stopping Reeves on cuts.
However, the rematch was a different story. The 155-pound Reeves caught Francis in a triangle choke in round 1, ending the fight.
In the semi-main bought, Ogden 170-pounder Justin Roberts (4-2) scored a quick win over Logan's Michael Dillard, stopping his opponent in 93 seconds via a kimura submission.
In other fights, Isaiah Salazar, son of the promoter (who shares the same name) stopped Chris Delgado in round 2. Also, Eti Palu stopped Adrian Ramos via strikes, Joel Haro scored a triangle choke win over Connor Jones, and Ogden's Brandon Beach defeated Sterling Johnson via an armbar.
In earlier bouts, Jared Toothaker decisioned Jamison Lewis, Corey Lake TKO'd Geovanni Gavilanez, Dan Pacette TKO'd Brad Grimes, and Hal Mitchell defeated Braeden Killpack with a triangle choke.
Full results of the Total Mayhem-promoted card were provided by the Utah website FightingOutof.NET. The promoters plan another card early next year that will include Ogden MMA pro Shawn Conroy.
