ROY -- Two juveniles who allegedly took part in an aggravated robbery are being charged as adults after a ruling in 2nd District Juvenile Court in Ogden.
Joshua Dutson, 17, and Cooper Van Huizen, 16, are suspected of invading a person's home at 5880 S. 2600 West in early November and taking wallets and cell phones while armed. The two were booked into Weber County Jail last Friday, and were each charged with three counts of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. Van Huizen was released on $40,000 bail less than two hours later. Dutson remains held on $40,000 bail.
Wesley Brown, 18, has also been charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the incident. Police believe the suspects and victim know each other well. The victim was held up at gunpoint and later fled the scene, according to police reports.
The judge found it was not contrary to the public's best interest to try Dutson and Van Huizen as adults, according to court documents.
