Gary and Carol Hadley of Taylor celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 28. They enjoyed a dinner with their children and grandchildren.
They enjoyed attending horse races in their earlier years of marriage. He rode a horse in every race, and she cooled out the horses and chased their oldest daughter Brenda Cox.
He was employed for many years with the family business Dean M. Hadley and Sons Construction. Later he worked for Swift Transportation, retiring after 15 years. It wasn't long before he headed back to work driving a dump truck for Jack B. Parsons, where he is employed today.
She has been a substitute teacher since 1971, all while raising three daughters. She coached many recreation softball teams throughout those years. Her daughters were busy between drill team and rodeos. People enjoy dropping by her home on Halloween for her ghost cookies.
The couple enjoy attending their grandchildren's activities and spending time in the mountains on their four wheelers.
Their three children and spouses are Brenda and Steve Cox, Becky and Scott Jorgensen, and Brandi and Kody Warren. They have six grandchildren: Tory Cox, Cori and husband Wil Hannah, Shanelle Cox, Cooper Jorgensen, Kallee Warren and Wyatt Warren.
